After arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. Time free to unpack and rest. At 6:00 PM, meet your guide and the rest of the group in the hotel lobby. Drive along the beautifully renovated Royal Route with its historical monuments. Stop for a short walk through Old Town, and then join us for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant with typical Polish dishes and famous Polish vodka, “Zubrowka”. (Welcome Dinner).
This morning, we introduce you to the highlights of Warsaw. A half-day sightseeing tour includes Old Town, beautifully rebuilt after World War II with impressive Royal Castle, seat of Polish kings. Here the May 3 Constitution was proclaimed in 1791, the second oldest constitution in the world. Admire some of its 300 rooms: the Throne Room, the magnificent Knight’s Hall and most impressive Ballroom.Stop at the chocolate factory "Wedel" to taste the delicious hot chocolate. After lunch in a local restaurant in the Old Town, continue your tour with a drive to the former Warsaw Ghetto. This evening, take a musical journey through the world famous compositions of Frederic Chopin, at a piano recital. A glass of sparkling wine will be served during intermission. (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast, depart for Zakopane - one of the most popular vacation resorts in the Tatra Mountains. En route, stop in Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery and the Black Madonna Shrine with its miraculous icon. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant in Czestochowa. In the evening arrive in Zakopane beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains and settle-in at your hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch)
In the morning, you will have a sightseeing tour of Zakopane, whose wooden architecture blends with the natural landscapes. Visit the famous Jaszczurowka Chapel, a great example of wooden architecture and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, built by the local "Gorale" as a votive for saving the life of Pope John Paul II after an assassination attempt. Admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras from the top of Gubalowka Mountain and shop for souvenirs of arts and crafts of the Highlanders (Gorale) at a local bazaar. In the afternoon depart for Krakow. En route stop in Pieniny National Park where you will enjoy a scenic rafting trip on the Dunajec River (weather permitting). Evening in Krakow is free to experience medieval atmosphere of this charming city, cultural capital of Poland. Dinner at the local restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)
This morning's city tour features Wawel Hill with the Royal Castle, home to three dynasties of Poland’s monarchs. Its stately chambers are filled with priceless medieval treasures including fabulous 16th century Flemish tapestries. You will also visit the Wawel Cathedral, where 18 chapels are true architectural masterpieces. Here the Polish kings were crowned and buried. Following a short break for coffee and cake at the famous Krakow café drive to Old Town with its restored medieval Market Square, one of the largest in Europe. At St. Mary’s Basilica see the largest wooden altar by Wit Stwosz and at the arcaded Cloth Hall, dating back to the 14th century, you can shop for souvenirs. After lunch we drive to Auschwitz to visit the martyrdom Museum of the former Nazi concentration camp. (Breakfast, Lunch)
In the morning time on your own. In the afternoon drive to Wieliczka, the oldest salt mine in Europe. On a 2.5 mile tourist route admire fascinating underground world of grottoes, chambers, sculptures, all carved in salt by many generations of miners. Dinner with a folklore show is in a local restaurant in Wieliczka. Drive back to Krakow for overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for return flight home. (Breakfast)
